It's no secret that online video is big business. How big, you ask? Uberflip, an online document accessibility company, created an infographic (video, of course) to demonstrate the current importance and bright future video has to offer specifically for professional marketers. For example, did you know that 87 percent of marketers already use video for content marketing? That's good news for marketers because about 40 billion videos are streamed in the United States each month to 75 million people. That means there is potential to reach over one-quarter of the population in the nation through steaming video. On top of that, the industry will spend around $3.9 billion in video ads this year, but that number will be dwarfed in two years. In 2015, the industry is predicted to spend $6.3 billion. And, while YouTube is still the undisputed king of online video, other social platforms are making splashes across the web. Vine recorded 13 million downloads in one week and Instagram's new video feature is available to all of its 130 million registered users. For marketers, all of these numbers indicate that typical web users crave online video. Video is a powerful medium when used properly and its currently popularity is a testament to the fact that it will be an important tool for marketers for some time to come.
What is the most powerful video marketing you have seen this year? Let us know in the comments.
